The first podcast I discovered on my health journey was Mike Matthews Muscle For Life. This is a great tool to learn the basics of nutrition, particularly macronutrient ratios, as well as barbell resistance training. He explains in easy to understand terminology, and is a nice introduction to podcast listening for health and fitness. Mike always keeps his message simple and concise, whilst continually bringing in new scientific research updates.

It could be argued that some of his podcasts are focused on the meathead side of resistance training. But nevertheless the message he brings across is applicable to everyone. Mike’s authenticity¬†and all round good guy persona ensures beginners also feel at home.
